Open Compute Project Launches First Regional Summit in Amsterdam

Open Compute Project Launches First Regional Summit in Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM, JUNE 11, 2018 – The first regional summit of the Open Compute Project Foundation (OCP) will take place October 1 – 2, 2018 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, at the RAI Exhibition & Conference Center.

Accelerate innovation

The Open Compute Project (OCP) is reimagining data centre hardware, making it more
efficient, flexible, and scalable. We do that based on open source hardware. By applying
to hardware the rules and methods we all know from the world of open source projects
the OCP community is able to develop, manufacture and market hardware that is not
only cheaper to buy and operate, but also better suited for use in data centres and telco
facilities. The ultimate goal of OCP is to accelerate innovation in the data centre.

Amsterdam Summit

In addition to engineering workshops, meetups and plugfests, OCP hosts an Annual
Summit each March in San Jose, CA. The 2018 event drew more than 3300 attendees, its
largest event in its history. However, based on strong international demand for its
innovations and solutions, the Open Compute Project Foundation will now hold this event
in various destinations throughout the world. The first one in Amsterdam.

Presentations and workshops

The annual regional Summit will bring together key decision makers, customers,
executives, channel partners, engineers, developers and suppliers in regions where OCP
is experiencing significant demand and adoption.
• Keynote presentations will focus on key issues specific to the European region
• Customers from several European countries will share their best practices and
more
• A number of workshops will support channel partners who would like to get
involved in the marketing of OCP based hardware
• Engineering Workshops will feature in-depth discoveries from OCP project groups
• The Expo Hall will be packed with the latest OCP hardware and software offerings
Each year exhibit and sponsor packages sell out at the OCP Summit, and are expected to
do the same for this Regional Summit.
